Overview

Primary responsibilities of Associate Manager include end-to-end partnership with in-market (Business Unit) Insights team to deliver on data & analytics for retail performance tracking and ad-hoc business questions pertaining to market position, share, growth drivers, brand diagnostics, consumer need states and drivers of consumer choice etc. for Pepsico products (specific portfolio, segment, or brand). You will lead a small team of Analytics, but remain the key POC for team’s output quality, periodic and on-demand performance reviews, addressing ad-hoc requests based on internal and external data sources, to bring out deep and holistic insights from retail data, consumer panel data, brand equity etc to identifying emerging trends, recognizing growth drivers, diagnosing barriers and hurdles to be removed, and flagging risks pertaining to competition, market share, forecast etc.

This role will support a critical Sector/BU/Category/ Function. The role will have responsbility of understanding the existing scorecards, adhoc business question and managing a team of Analysts that works with in-market teams. Digitization and Standardisation are key priorities at HBS, and this position is expected to support this fully and enthusiastically.

Responsibilities

Partnership and Delivery excellence

Partner with Insights POC/ project owner in market for business intelligence reporting end to end. Identify business questions to be answered, macro trends, category/ competitor movements, and overall portfolio/ segment/ brand performance based on syndicated retail data received from partner agencies. Use alternative sources for data gaps and leverage cross-functional learnings to incorporate considerations beyond retail data into reporting. Ensure good commentary and storytelling to explain business performance, drivers, optimization opportunities, and the key insights to action. Provide responses to ad-hoc follow-ups when double-click required with tables/charts/stories using relevant data Responsible for individual optimal utilization of time and delivering on agreed timelines and scope. Monitor and act upon regular feedback inputs from deliverables end-users and Business Partners Bring in best practices/capabilities and collaborate with GBS capability teams to enhance and evolve partnership model

Process management & Data Governance

Maintain regular comms and governance with key stakeholders, keeping all updated on project plan, workflow monitoring, quality checks, challenges to fix, changes to manage. Improve existing processes based on frequent end-user and Business Partner feedback loop Build and manage long term partnerships with external vendors/ data suppliers to support business intelligence needs and ensure contingency/action plans when dissatisfactory results arise Establish safeguards and quality checks to ensure quality and consistency, regular trend-watch to identify and address potential trend breaks. Leverage global/ regional synchronization efforts (PEPView, PPD, SMART) to drive simplification and digitization

People/ Talent Management

Coach and on- board new members of the team in ways of working and processes. Lead E2E performance and career management of the team Manage of team 2-3 associates, ensuring team performance, engagement, and development plans. Qualifications Education: Masters in Economics, Maths/ Statistics, Marketing/ Management/ Business Administration Quant data & analytics savvy: Hands-on knowledge on Nielsen/IRI retail/POS, Kantar/GFK HH panel, Global Data, Euromonitor Familiarity with brand strategy/category strategy frameworks like Brand Equity Tracking, Demand Spaces, U&A/Consumer segmentation Experience in working in CPG and Food & Beverage industry Experience managing global/ intermational projects and global stakeholder. Experience in matrix-set up/ MNCs a bonus. Team management experience of 2-4 yrs leading small teams of 2-5 individuals. Excellent business communication skills – spoken and written.

Desirable:

Experience on digital tools like PowerBI Operational experience in business serves and/or consulting experience. Leadership qualities: Leading teams, vision and strategy, critical conversations, conflict and change management, business partnership acumen Multicultural stakeholder management skills in a matrix organisation Self Starter, Solution-oriented approach to problem solving Analytical thinking; ability to extract holistic insights from diverse data, and present these in highly visual and storytelling style
