Specialist - Data Science


What can you expect?

The MMC Cyber Risk Intelligence Center team offers to provide cyber modeling, thought leadership, and cyber analytics guidance across the MMC enterprise. The Specialist would work closely with this group to:

  • Expand upon the company’s existing cyber modelling capabilities to make an immediate impact on clients
  • Build cyber risk loss estimation models, tools and reports using proprietary internal data and data licensed from third parties
  • Build models for emerging aspects of cyber risk
  • Understand the different cyber analytics needs of corporations, insurance companies, and reinsurance companies, and develop analytic solutions for each.

We will count on you to:

  • Primarily work with the MMC Cyber Risk Intelligence Center team to maintain, expand and develop existing cyber model
  • The incumbent will work closely with teams across the globe to integrate regional-specific cyber developments into the models
  • Utilize statistical techniques such as regression, goodness-of-fit-tests, and nonparametric methods to model cyber risk
  • Effectively summarize and generate trends using internal and external dataset
  • Communicate solutions, parameters, assumptions, and inner workings to audiences who vary widely in their levels of technical fluency and seniority
  • Guidance to team members to meet various project related goals
  • Be client centric - To be self-motivated and effectively switch between projects to meet business priorities


What you need to have:

  • Masters or Bachelor degree in Data Science / Math / Economics / 4+ Actuarial papers or an equivalent degree from a reputed institute
  • 1 – 3 years of experience building and maintaining loss models, using loss modeling tools, statistical models, and spreadsheet applications
  • Solid knowledge in Python and/or R programming
  • Applied mathematics/statistical skills, such as Bayesian modeling and regression modeling
  • Good understanding of Machine Learning algorithms.
