We are looking for aHead – GST & Indirect Taxto lead our indirect tax practice. The role involves managing GST advisory and compliance, handling litigation, leading a team of 15–20 professionals, and independently engaging with clients and firm partners. This is anon-site position . Location - Shivajinagar, Pune1. GST Advisory & Compliance Lead and review GST advisory assignments across sectors. Oversee end-to-end GST compliance, including registrations, returns, reconciliations, and annual returns. Review tax positions on complex transactions, input tax credit issues, cross-charges, and place of supply. Ensure timely updates and implementation of changes in GST law, rules, and notifications. 2. Litigation & Representation Handle GST assessments, audits, investigations, and departmental queries. Draft and review replies to notices, audit objections, and show cause notices. Prepare and review written submissions, appeals, and petitions before departmental authorities and appellate forums. Coordinate with counsels, where required, and support in strategy for key litigation matters. 3. Team Leadership & Management Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 15–20 GST professionals and executives. Allocate work, monitor deliverables, and ensure quality and timely completion. Provide technical guidance, conduct internal trainings, and support team members’ professional development. Drive standardisation of processes, checklists, and internal controls within the GST team. 4. Client & Stakeholder Management Act as the primary point of contact for key GST clients. Independently handle client meetings, reviews, and presentations. Understand client businesses and proactively identify opportunities for value-added services. Work closely with Partners and other service lines to deliver integrated solutions. 5. Practice Development & Knowledge Management Assist in developing GST-related service offerings, proposals, and pitches. Contribute to thought leadership: articles, client alerts, webinars, and internal knowledge notes. Track industry trends, judicial pronouncements, and policy developments in GST and indirect tax.Qualifications & Experience CA with 6–7+ yearsof strong GST/indirect tax experience in a reputed / large CA firm. Hands-on experience inGST litigation , advisory, and compliance. Proven ability tolead and manage teams of 15–20 resources . Strong drafting skills for notices, replies, and appeals. Excellent communication and client-handling skills; confident in independently interacting with senior client stakeholders and firm partners. Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
