Python (Good Knowledge) – Used selectively for code conversion where appropriate. T-SQL / SQL Server – Strong understanding of SQL Server development to ensure compatibility during conversion. Version Control / Release Management – Familiarity with Git, ADO (Azure DevOps), and standard development lifecycle practices. Nice to Have Monitoring & Alerting Tools – Experience with application monitoring and alerting systems is a plus. Automation Tools – Familiarity with scripting or tools used to automate development, deployment, or testing workflows. Day-to-Day Expectations Analyze existing application code written in PERL and Sybase SQL. Convert and/or refactor code to ensure compatibility with MS SQL Server. Where feasible, rewrite or transition components into Python as part of a long-term modernization effort. In cases where Python conversion is not feasible, ensure full functionality is preserved in PERL. Use Git/ADO for version control and follow standard release management practices. Collaborate with team members to maintain consistency, quality, and adherence to timelines.
