Head Physiotherapist

Scope of work: Head Physiotherapist, Haryana Steelers

Conduct thorough evaluations through PCMA, MSK, FMS, RTPs of athletes' physical condition, medical history, and past injuries at the start of the pre-season.Design and conduct various sport-specific testing metrics for the team.Design a robust recovery schedule and process, keeping in mind the workload during various stages like pre-season, season, and travel days.Design and implement the injury prevention program for each member of the squad as per the test results and needs of the sport.Work in concert with the team staff, which may include the Head Coach, Strength & Conditioning Coach, Team Manager, Analyst, Psychologists, Nutritionist, and others, to develop programs that enhance athletic performance and prevent injuries.Educate athletes on injury prevention strategies, proper training techniques, and the importance of hydration, rest, proper sleep, and recovery.Maintain clear and open communication with athletes, coaches, and medical staff regarding injury status, treatment plans, and progress.Recognize and address the psychological aspects of injury and rehabilitation, providing support or referrals as needed.

Required:Master's Degree in PhysiotherapyMinimum 7 years of experience working in sportPrior experience of deep knowledge of athlete screening, injury profiling, and injury management pathways within an elite athlete population and sports leaguesRegistration with a recognized physiotherapy bodyPrior experience of working with international-level athletes and sports leaguesDesirable: Work experience with a Pro Kabaddi League TeamDesirable: Work experience with multiple sports, especially contact sports, and preferably KabaddiDesirable: Experience in leading a team of Sports PhysiotherapistsDesirable: Experience using a Data Management/ Athlete Management System for efficient and safe storage of information

Job LocationThe pre-season training camp will be held at the Inspire Institute of Sport, located in Vijayanagara, Karnataka. During the season, you will be required to travel with the team.

Contract TermThe contract term for this position is 5-6 months, starting from August 1, 2024.
