Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer with over 3 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Scala and will play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing our data pipelines and systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Scala.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to design and implement robust data solutions.
  • Build and maintain data models, ETL processes, and integrations with various data sources.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of data systems.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance data pipelines to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Work with large datasets and distributed systems to process and analyse data.
  • Document data workflows, architectures, and technical specifications.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering and recommend improvements.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in Scala for data engineering tasks.
  • Hands-on experience with distributed data processing frameworks like Apache Spark.
  • Solid understanding of ETL pipelines, data modelling, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Kafka, or Flink.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Proficient in working with version control systems like Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and team collaboration abilities.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools or libraries.
  • Exposure to machine learning workflows and frameworks.
  • Certifications in cloud technologies or big data platforms.
