Role Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Payments Engineer to lead the integration of localized payment systems into our websites. The engineer will focus on enabling customers to make payments in their local currency through country-specific payment gateways and methods, ensuring a frictionless experience for users globally. This position requires expertise in payment APIs, gateway integration, and a deep understanding of regional payment preferences.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Payment Gateway Integration:
  • Research, evaluate, and integrate payment gateways compatible with local currencies in specific countries, including but not limited to Poland, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Nigeria, South Africa, Argentina, Australia, and the European Union.
  • Enable localized payment methods such as BLIK (Poland), PIX (Brazil), Mercado Pago (Argentina), and others as appropriate.
  1. API Implementation:
  • Utilize APIs from global and regional payment providers (e.g., PayPal, Stripe, BLIK, Mercado Pago, PayU, PIX, Razorpay, etc.) to support a wide variety of payment methods.
  • Ensure smooth communication between Trademarkia's systems and third-party payment APIs.
  1. Currency Localization:
  • Develop and maintain a system to support transactions in local currencies with real-time currency conversion when needed.
  • Ensure proper compliance with local tax regulations, surcharges, and other fees.
  1. Localized Website Payment Features:
  • Customize payment interfaces for each country's localized Trademarkia website to provide a seamless user experience.
  • Implement region-specific payment options and ensure compatibility with website functionality.
  1. Testing and Optimization:
  • Conduct rigorous testing for all payment integrations to ensure reliability and security.
  • Monitor payment success rates and optimize payment workflows to reduce friction.
  1. Security and Compliance:
  • Implement strong data protection measures to secure payment transactions and customer information.
  • Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS and other relevant regulations in the respective countries.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated with the latest payment technologies and trends.
  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to improve the global payments experience.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong programming skills in languages like Python, Java, or Golang.
  • Experience with integrating payment gateways and APIs (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, Adyen, etc.).
  • Familiarity with payment ecosystems in international markets.
  • Payments Knowledge:
  • Understanding of diverse payment types, including credit cards, bank transfers, digital wallets, and mobile payments.
  • Experience in handling currency conversions, taxes, and local compliance regulations.
  • Problem-Solving Skills:
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with payment flows.
