ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Provide high level of engineering support for Schneider Electric standard products.
  • Provide product application engineering support through right configuration selection, identifying & highlighting any application issues, providing solution for customized product application requirement, etc.
  • The engineering support includes areas of UPS, batteries, electrical panels, busbar selection, power cables, power distribution products, transfer switches, Isolation transformers, generators, power monitoring solutions, Switch gear and other electrical components.
  • Ensure that applications are in line with customer needs and safety standards.
  • Evaluating/designing/qualifying 3rd party products, providing product engineering drawings & documentation support, specification clarification & technical support, specify for the product adaptation team the requirements.
  • Design and develop the UPS Auxiliary, PDU product according to global engineering codes and standards
  • Manage engineering projects and deliver them on time.
  • Work closely with the core design team and product as per the specification /Approved Drawings
  • Ensure Production team/vendor is assembling the product as per the design
  • Support quality control to ensure products are manufactured as per the specifications
  • Help develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes and systems
  • Upon Customer feedback/ requests related to quality improvements or enhancements on existing products
  • Validate the design by carrying out the tests, production of prototypes
  • Dry-type transformers and magnetics as needed.
  • Perform overall transformer design calculations and detailed coil and insulation design.
  • Perform cooling calculations and select cooling components and other major components and accessories as needed.
  • Assist/support mechanical design done by including core design, core/coil construction, overall lay-out and clearances, cable routing, etc.
  • Provide technical support as needed to the Test Department as they test the designs. Provide expected results and required tests in advance. Review final test data to evaluate the designs.
  • Assist to create engineering design guides and manuals.
  • Create bills of materials
  • Contribute towards competency improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and become a role model.


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE


  • Proficiency in 3 Phase UPS technologies, Power Distribution Unit (PDU), DC Breaker, Maintenance Bypass Panel, Electrical Panel product used in data center solution.
  • Design and development of dry type isolation transformer for PDUs
  • Strong Knowledge in Busbar design & Calculation, Selection of Switch Gears, Selection of Power, and Control Cables according to global engineering codes and standards
  • Good Qualification skills & knowledge about 3 Phase PDU, UPS, Batteries, Electrical panels and AC/DC Breakers, cables, power distribution products, transfer switches, transformers, generators, power monitoring solutions, PCBA and other electrical components Strong Knowledge in Electrical AutoCAD and able to create GA, SLD and Submittal Drawings
  • Strong knowledge in engineering design deliverables DFM, DFMEA, PFMEA, FTA, CQCS
  • Understanding customer requirement & specify for the product adaptation requirements. Suggesting a technically ideal and commercially viable solution to the customer / consultant (end to end solution) with available product basket
  • Create production document (Drawing, work instructions, Quality Check Sheet) for all in-house Manufactured product or third party products
  • Identify & qualify vendors for 3rd party products & solutions – Eg: Transformers. Electrical Panels
  • Good knowledge in understanding the power and control architectures of 3 Phase PDU/PMM products. Validate the prototype as per the requirement.
  • Identify the risks in adapted product offers & create the risk mitigation plans together with design team
  • Provide feedback to vendors and design engineers with recommendations for improvements to the solutions.
  • Provide & design special test plans to evaluate the adapted solution according to the expected specification from the customer.
  • Able to work in cross cultural and cross functional global teams.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Good knowledge in UPS, Isolation Transformer, Auxiliaries designs and development.
  • Good knowledge in power electronics circuits like, Charger, Inverter, Battery configurations, High DC voltage systems etc
  • High level skills needed in planning/execution of analysis/simulation/fault reproduction etc
  • Good knowledge about electronic/electrical components, knowledge about analogue/digital components/circuits understanding with analysis/trouble shooting skills Good understanding in Lab related tools usage
  • Good knowledge in safety standards, electrical codes, Symbols, earthing systems etc


EDUCATION – MINIMUN REQUIRED LEVEL:


  • Master’s/Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent


EXPERIENCE – MINIMUM REQUIRED:


  • 5-7 yrs or more experience in Electrical Engineering or equivalent in critical power systems Strong Knowledge in Electrical AutoCAD design and related knowledge/skills etc.
