VIV is seeking motivated, well-rounded Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation intern dengineer with advanced expertise in industrial automation, Knowledge of equipment for low cost automation, Project Management, Customized Automation system, Robotics, Electrical & Instrumentation, Field Wiring, Project Installation & Commissioning, system Integration with PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA/ Pneumatic/ Sensors/Actuators.


The candidate should be able to interact with customers, consultants the sales team to formalise and design solutions, and understand the needs & requirements for a new product/project or automation system. The candidate must have experience in Project Implementation, Programming (PLC, HMI, VFD Parameters, and SCADA), Terminal Automation system, Safety system along with a proven track record in managing projects. This position will work closely with the executive team and other members of the engineering team to offer concrete solutions and features set that directly impact business results.


Activities and Specific Duties:

Automation Engineer:


  • Collaborate with the executive team and other members of the engineering team to understand and document requirements, implement solution, Project Planning, Review, Project Documentation and Customer Interaction.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute release plans and QA and be an integral part in discussions with end client about requirements.
  • Supporting sales team with concepts for solutions being pitched.
  • Product selection & configuration based on the applications.
  • Conducting Demos, Proof of concept to the customers.
  • Ensuring cost effective design, meeting required standards.
  • Scheduling of work to complete the project assigned and to ensure timely delivery of project and solution.
  • Reviewing electrical designs for possible pitfalls.
  • Supervising manufacturing team and helping them in the same.
  • Depth in Site survey, Design, Installation, Testing, Commissioning, Automation, Operation & maintenance.
  • Preparing operating instruction and maintenance manuals of products.
  • Technical support to plant & engineering team as a subject matter expertise.
  • Managing procurement of instruments/components.
  • Site and Customer Management.
  • Installation, Commissioning & Troubleshooting of Control Panel.
  • Design Electrical diagram.
  • Onsite installation & commissioning.
  • Responsible for Installation and commissioning of PLC/SCADA system, MCC Panel, VFD Panel.


Required Skill Sets:


  • Electrical Panel Testing.  Programming of PLC/HMI/SCADA is a must.
  • Must have knowledge of communication protocol like RS232, RS485, Ethernet, Modbus, Profibus, and Profinet. Knowledge of Automation Systems Designs and Specifications.  Knowledge on Process Engineering
  • Should have worked on any one of the PLC/HMI/SCADA/VFD of Siemens / Allen Bradley / Omron / Schneider / Delta / Fanuc / Mitsubishi.
  • Strong Communication / Presentation Skills.
  • Ability to introduce and improve Quality practices that ensure zero defects.
  • Knowledge of latest technologies available for Smart Plant instruments, Process Instrumentation and Control Systems.
  • Have basic knowledge of Industry 4.0, IIoT, Raspberry Pi, Machine Vision ( Sick & Cognex ) shall be an added. advantage.
  • Knowledge of electrical design software like: SolidWork Electrical / AutoCad Electrical is required.


Minimum Requirements:


  • Diploma/Bachelors or higher in related technical field.
  • At least two (2) years of experienced in relative field.
  • Experienced in Industrial Automation (Factory Automation Industrial Division).
  • Experience in instrument selection, BOM Preparation, and cost calculation.
  • Experience building detail oriented steps algorithm.  Strong system analysis skills.
  • Strong time management skills, with proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budget and specs.
  • Candidate should have a sound and thorough understanding of electronic design concepts and various manufacturing techniques.
