Position:

As a Senior Software Engineer , you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of our backend systems. Your primary focus will be on maintaining, scaling and optimizing our Python-based architecture built on FastAPI, AWS serverless infrastructure, and Dockerized microservices.

You will replace two critical roles, taking ownership of the backend while collaborating closely with the CTO and frontend team to deliver a world-class SaaS product.


Responsibilities:

  • Backend Development: Build and maintain a scalable backend architecture using Python and FastAPI. Maintaining the codebase, refactoring and modularization of sub components
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Leverage AWS serverless technologies for deployment, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Microservices & Orchestration: Design and deploy Dockerized microservices, managing CI/CD pipelines using Coolify.
  • Database Management: Develop, optimize, and maintain MongoDB schemas and queries.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with frontend engineers and integrate with APIs and external systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor system performance, address bottlenecks, and implement robust solutions.
  • Technical Leadership: Mentor team members and ensure best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.


Must Have:

  • 3+ years experience in SaaS Development/Engineering in fast-paced lean Agile Teams
  • Expertise in Python, with hands-on experience using FastAPI or similar frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of AWS serverless technologies (e.g., Lambda, State Machine, ECS).
  • Strong experience with Docker for microservices and orchestration.
  • Proficiency in working with MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (preferably Coolify or equivalent tools).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an ownership mindset.
  • Experience with API development, integrating third party systems.
  • Strong fundamentals in shell scripting, automation, data structures & algorithm development


Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to AI/ML workflows or NLP technologies.
  • Familiarity with frontend integration (JavaScript/React).
  • Knowledge of German Language is a plus
