Associate Manager, Alerts and Monitoring

:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Associate Manager to lead our Alerts and Monitoring team in a dynamic AWS hosted environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, SQL Sentry, and AWS CloudWatch. This role involves overseeing the monitoring infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, and promptly addressing any issues to maintain optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
Lead and manage a team of monitoring specialists, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. Develop and implement strategies for efficient monitoring and alerting across various systems and applications. Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.Monitoring and Alerting:
Oversee the setup, configuration, and maintenance of monitoring tools including SolarWinds, SQL Sentry, and AWS CloudWatch. Ensure comprehensive coverage of monitoring across all critical systems and applications. Develop and maintain alerting policies to promptly identify and address potential issues.Incident Management:
Manage and respond to alerts and incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on operations. Coordinate with other IT teams to investigate and resolve complex issues. Develop and maintain incident response procedures and documentation.Performance Optimization:
Continuously monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimization. Implement proactive measures to prevent incidents and improve system reliability. Analyze monitoring data to identify trends and recommend improvements.Reporting and Documentation:
Generate regular reports on system performance, incidents, and monitoring activities. Maintain accurate documentation of monitoring configurations, procedures, and incident responses. Communicate monitoring insights and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.Compliance and Security:
Ensure monitoring practices comply with organizational policies and industry standards. Implement security best practices in monitoring and alerting systems.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree. Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position Strong proficiency in SolarWinds, SQL Sentry, and AWS CloudWatch. Indepth understanding of AWS infrastructure and services. Experience with incident management and troubleshooting in a complex IT environment. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.Preferred Qualifications:
AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect). Experience with other monitoring tools and technologies.
