Job Description
Senior Data Engineer
Pune, India
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data solutions that support our enterprise data strategy. You will report to the Data Engineering Manager and work in a hybrid capacity from one of our India offices. In this role, you will lead development efforts, architect robust data pipelines, and mentor junior engineers to enable "Data as a Service" across the organization.
You will be reporting to TEAM LEAD - DATA ENGINEER.
We are open to hire - Pune, Bangalore, Noida location.
Your Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and test scalable data management solutions including applications, APIs, and interfaces. Architect data structures and pipelines to support enterprise-wide data availability and analytics. Lead the design and implementation of cloud and edge-level infrastructure components. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on Connected Enterprise and DA&I initiatives for internal and external stakeholders. Mentor and guide junior engineers through the full development lifecycle. Ensure DevOps pipeline efficiency and manage CI/CD deployments. Implement and maintain containerized solutions using modern orchestration tools. Write high-quality, compliant code aligned with industry and regulatory standards. Conduct root cause analysis and implement both short-term fixes and long-term solutions for recurring issues. Develop and maintain test and data validation frameworks to ensure data integrity. Collaborate with business analysts and product owners to translate requirements into technical solutions. Lead a pod of analysts and engineers for new feature development and delivery. Manage and update backlogs and user stories in JIRA. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation.The Essentials - You Will Have:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 6+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in ETL/ELT, data modeling, and pipeline orchestration. Proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark, and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP). Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Strong understanding of data governance, quality, and security principles. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead technical discussions. Experience working in Agile environments and using tools like JIRA and Confluence.The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies. Familiarity with data lakehouse architectures and modern data platforms. Exposure to data cataloging and metadata management tools. Certifications in cloud technologies or data engineering.What We Offer
