Murex Environment Management Consultant

Project Description:

• We've been engaged by a large European Bank to provide resources to their Murex program.
• Joining this program, you will have the benefit of working with an established client team, fully involved in the project initiation through to project implementation.

Responsibilities:

• You should be able to multitask in a demanding F2B environment, taking ownership of tasks to completion supporting platform teams located in India and UK.
• Contribute towards building CICD pipeline and should be able to stretch in the role to the demand of the global team of developers, project managers and should be able to deliver to the project deadlines.
• Management of multiple parallel release making sure the timely availability of environment, management of code per release, and its deployment.
• Hands on experience with Murex Upgrade/migration on Murex 3.1.4/48 is added advantage.
• Deployment in cloud with latest tool set would be an added advantage i.e. exposure to AWS, Jenkins, Team city, knowledge of CI/CD pipeline etc.
• You will be expected to Innovate continuously with Automation of environment related activities, Unix scripting, Jenkins, Teach City.
• You will be expected to know the various Infrastructure components around the application Environment, Databases, UNIX, Networking, Storage and should be able to engineer solutions working with the Engineering colleagues.
• Contribute to the Continuous Improvement of the release process.
• You'll work on the Murex Batch configuration and Management.
• System backup's w.r.t UNIX and Database.
• Establish and maintain risk assessments to identify and assess the material risks that arise in their area of responsibility.
• Establish a culture of innovation and strategic thinking that translates big picture strategic opportunities into practical objectives.
• Drive continuous improvements of existing processes and procedures in the area of specialist knowledge and across other service management disciplines. Initiate and build tools that would help standardisation of services provided.
• Undertake line management responsibilities (where required) in line with Technology policies and processes, including developing skills and knowledge of the team.
• Build and maintain the capability of team/business unit to ensure levels of service and quality of deliverable meet the needs of the Technology.
• Manage team operations through effective and efficient management of team finances, operational risks and continuous improvement activities.
• Supports and maintains technology within the budget and headcount targets whilst being fit for purpose.
• Ensures that direct reports take active roles in the development of people, attracting, retaining and developing talent. Builds capability, robust succession plans and effective talent management.
• Provides senior executives with relevant management information and reports and escalates concerns as appropriate.
• Lead and influence people to drive business performance and deliver results.
• Comply with relevant Group Policies, testing and certifying the adequacy and effectiveness of their controls on a regular basis.
• Establish and document operating procedures which include relevant controls to meet Group and local policy requirements.
• Establish and own a governance structure for identifying and managing risk, and for defining and approving an appropriate Risk Appetite.

Mandatory Skills Description:

• 3+ years of experience in Murex DataMart, MLC, and Murex MxML exchange architecture.
• Strong experience in Java, Autosys, and Linux.
• Experience and knowledge of Capital Markets is essential.
• Willingness to work across shifts and weekends is a requirement for this senior role.
• Experience in supervising the Murex environment implementation and maintenance across development, UAT, and PROD.
• Deployment/Release Management resource who has experience in Deploying the code and build and set up Environments.
• ITIL knowledge and Foundation certification is a must.
• Knowledge on Cloud platforms and latest RPA tools, and should have worked in automating operational processes.
• Able to automate the deployment process and experienced with CI/CD approach.
• Good understanding on the incident and problem management, Release Management, Configuration Management processes.
• Strong experience in Environment planning and allocation, build/refresh, End-to-end support.
• Performs routine administrative / technical tasks to appropriately maintain the system.
• Hands on with the Murex Batch configuration and Management.
• Should possess good knowledge on Murex Services and environment management.
• Should have good understanding of Murex data model architecture.
• Murex configuration.
• Murex EOD process.
• Exposure to DEVOPS practices.
• Advanced knowledge of one or more Service Management disciplines such as incident, Problem, Change IT, Continuity or Capacity.
• Knowledge of CMS and agile methodology. Usage of release tools like - Bitbucket, Nexus, HPSA, TeamCity, Jira, Jenkins, ServiceNow, Autosys etc.
• Relevant industry standard toolsets and processes to drive up customer service within an IT environment.
• Technical solution design experience and start-to-end solution ownership
• Should have influencing skills and build relationship with senior stakeholders.
• Team Management, Leadership skills, Influencing/Motivation skills.
• Operational Principles.
• Advanced knowledge of one or more Service Management disciplines such as incident, Problem, Change IT, Continuity or Capacity.
• Should have experience in setting-up SNOW, Knowledge Management tool.
• Should have experience in managing large transformation projects
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent Communication (written and spoken English).
