Job Title: Ansible Engineer


Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Ansible Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in managing our infrastructure automation processes. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Ansible installation, configuration, and automation, with a focus on server patching, server provisioning, server retirement, and integrating Ansible with third-party applications such as SolarWinds, ServiceNow, and Active Directory. The candidate should also have experience in exploring and implementing various automation solutions using Ansible.


Responsibilities:


Ansible Installation and Configuration:

  • Install and configure Ansible to manage and automate infrastructure tasks efficiently.
  • Design Ansible playbooks, roles, and inventories to streamline automation processes.

Server Patching and Management:

  • Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for automating server patching processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate patching of servers while minimizing downtime.

Server Provisioning and Retirement:

  • Utilize Ansible to automate the provisioning and retirement of servers according to organizational needs.
  • Implement best practices for server lifecycle management using Ansible.

Integration with Third-Party Applications:

  • Integrate Ansible with third-party applications such as SolarWinds, ServiceNow, and Active Directory to enhance automation capabilities.
  • Collaborate with teams to design and implement seamless integrations with various systems.

Automation Solutions:

  • Identify opportunities for automation beyond Ansible and implement efficient automation solutions.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and tools to improve automation processes.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of Ansible configurations, playbooks, and automation workflows.
  • Generate regular reports on automation activities, performance, and improvements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an Ansible Engineer or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Ansible installation, configuration, and automation.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing Ansible playbooks, roles, and inventories.
  • Experience in server patching, provisioning, and retirement through Ansible.
  • Familiarity with integrating Ansible with third-party applications like SolarWinds, ServiceNow, and Active Directory.
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Ansible Automation certification are a plus.
