Job Title: API Automation Test Lead
Experience Level: 8+ years
Location: Bengaluru
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced API Automation Test Lead with over 8+ years of expertise in API testing and leading teams of 5+ engineers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining the test strategy, reviewing test cases, planning execution, and identifying areas for test improvement. They will also perform Automation Proof of Concepts (PoCs) when required and drive improvements across API automation practices using tools like Postman, Robot Framework, and more. The role requires solid experience in API security, performance testing, and scalability testing tools such as JMeter. The candidate should have a strong background in Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines, with a focus on delivering high-quality automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
● 10+ years experinced Lead with leading a team of 5+ engineers in API automation testing.
● Define and implement test strategies for projects, ensuring thorough test case design and coverage.
● Review and approve test cases using tools such as Polarion or Jira (SynapseRT Test Management).
● Execute test cases and automation suites, monitor progress, and identify areas for improvement.
● Perform API automation using Postman, with hands-on experience in Robot Framework for automation.
● Conduct Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for automation tools and frameworks as needed.
● Perform scalability testing using JMeter or similar tools to ensure system robustness and performance.
● Knowledge of API security and performance testing techniques.
● Collaborate with developers and DevOps to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins for daily automation and regression testing.
● Basic experience with Android or mobile application testing.
● Work in an Agile environment, adhering to Agile methodologies and best practices.
● (Preferred) Act as Scrum Master when needed, facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Qualifications:
● 8+ years of experience in API testing, with at least 3 years of experience leading teams.
● Strong expertise in API Automation using tools like Postman, Robot Framework, and other testing frameworks.
● Experience with Scalability Testing tools like JMeter.
● Familiarity with API Security and Performance Testing.
● Hands-on experience with test case management tools (Polarion, Jira - SynapseRT).
● Knowledge of CI/CD integration using Jenkins or similar tools for continuous automation and regression testing.
● (Preferred) Microservices and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) knowledge.
● Experience working with Agile methodologies.
● Basic understanding of Android or mobile application testing is a plus.
● (Preferred) Scrum Master certification or experience leading Scrum ceremonies.
Nice to Have:
● Experience in Microservices architecture and deployment on GCP.
● Scrum Master experience in Agile projects.
Education:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
