Role Overview:We are seeking a versatile AI Technical Artist who will bridge the gap between art and data science. This role is perfect for someone with strong artistic foundations who wants to learn AI—no prior programming experience is required, but you must be willing to explore GitHub repos, pick up AI fundamentals, and apply data-driven methods to your creative process. Whether you're a newcomer aiming to accelerate your design career through machine learning or a seasoned artist looking to integrate AI into your workflow, we want you to join our team
You'll collaborate closely with designers, developers, and data scientists to build cutting-edge 3D experiences for our MR products. You'll leverage your artistic background in tools like Maya, Blender, Houdini, or ZBrush, and, with our guidance, develop Python scripting or AI/data-science skills to help us innovate at the confluence of art and technology.
Key Responsibilities :
1.
3D Asset Creation & Optimization:- Model, texture, and optimize 3D assets for mixed reality applications, using tools like Maya, Blender, Houdini, or ZBrush.- Ensure assets are performant and visually compelling in real-time or MR environments.2.
AI Integration & Data-Driven Processes :- Explore machine learning techniques for procedural generation, style transfer, or asset optimization.- Collaborate with our AI/Data Science team to experiment with models and concepts that enhance the art pipeline.3.
Tool & Pipeline Development :- Learn Python (or expand your programming knowledge) to build scripts/plugins that automate tasks, process data, and streamline workflows.- Research and explore GitHub repositories for emerging AI/ML projects relevant to art and design.4.
Prototyping & Experimentation:- Develop rapid prototypes blending artistic techniques with data science (e.g., generative art, dynamic visuals).- Experiment with new visual styles, assets, or effects powered by AI to push creative boundaries.5.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:- Work with designers, engineers, and data scientists to understand user needs and refine design concepts.- Communicate creative ideas, technical constraints, and AI possibilities to non-technical stakeholders.6.
Skill Growth & Knowledge Sharing :- Embrace continuous learning—exploring new AI libraries, design frameworks, and 3D tools.- Share your findings, insights, and best practices with the team to foster a culture of innovation
Qualifications
:Artistic Foundation: Experience with 3D design principles—modeling, texturing, basic animation.3D Tools Proficiency: Familiar with Maya, Blender, Houdini, or ZBrush.Desire to Learn AI & Data Science:No prior programming or data-science background required, *but* you must show enthusiasm for learning Python, exploring GitHub repos, and picking up AI fundamentals.Collaboration: Excellent communication skills; comfortable working in a multidisciplinary environment.Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to approach challenges creatively, using both artistic intuition and analytical thinking.
We welcome a range of backgrounds - game dev, VFX, art, engineering, or recent graduates with a strong portfolio. Experience with data science is a plus, but a willingness to dive in and learn is essential.
