Project Description:

  • Support an iconic Australian brand as they seek to replace and modernise core trading and clearing platforms.
  • You will be working on the latest technologies (AWS, Java Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Kafka) in a greenfield project building out new digital experiences and core trading capability for this major financial institution.
  • Responsibilities:
  • As a Java back-end developer, you will be working within a team in charge of the back-end API/Kafka services integrating with the existing Clearing platform.
  • You will be participating in a larger program consisting in migrating a large monolithic clearing application into a distributed application based on micro-services as well as shifting from an on-premise installation to the Cloud.

Mandatory Skills Description:

  • • 7+ years of relevant working experience
  • • Worked with, and delivered on, enterprise CI/CD capabilities and tools, providing guidance on best practices and helping enable major programs to deliver business value.
  • • Experience designing, building and testing Java applications, micro services, data streaming capabilities.
  • • Experience with API Swagger design
  • • Experience building micro services using Java Spring Boot and Node JS
  • • Experience building micro services and/or Serverless Applications like Lambda with Node JS
  • • In-depth knowledge of popular Java frameworks like Spring Boot & Spring MVC
  • • Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Architecture certifications on AWS (Preferred) or GCP incl Kubernetes Cluster Containerized based Java Spring Boot applications
  • • Experience on Apache Kafka / Confluent Kafka
  • • Experience in designing and integrating RESTful APIs
  • • Experience with Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
  • • Good delegation and time management skills
  • • Problem-solving abilities
  • • Participate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment
  • • Engage with inspiring designers and front-end engineers, and collaborate with leading back-end engineers to create reliable APIs
  • • Collaborate across time zones via documents, and frequent videoconferences
  • • Excellent debugging and optimization skills
  • • Experience in unit/integration and Non-Functional testing
  • • Experience with complex data structures and semi structured data (JSON, XML)
  • • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent IT discipline.

Nice-to-Have Skills Description:

  • • Experience logging & Monitoring tools like Open Telemetry & Cloud Observability - Lightstep
  • • Experience in working with React applications
  • • Excellent debugging and optimization skills
  • • Experience in unit/integration testing
