Position: Estimation Engineer


Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical or Civil Engineering graduate with 2-3 years of experience in AutoCAD and other CAD software to join our team as an Estimation Engineer at SiteRecon . Previous exposure to IT or software startups will be an added advantage. About the Product:

SiteRecon is like the "Amazon + Google Docs" for maps. Our users place an order to create a map, and our AI-powered platform, backed by a human-in-the-loop process, delivers high-quality data. These maps serve as the foundation for creating survey notes, operations plans, cost estimates, and more, streamlining property maintenance workflows for our clients.


About the Market:

Although our technology can be applied across various industries, our primary market is the landscaping industry in the US, Canada, and Australia. The combined market value of this sector in these three countries exceeds a remarkable $140 billion.


Responsibilities:

  • Project Scoping & Estimation : Assess construction and maintenance projects by reviewing architectural and structural drawings, GIS maps, and collaborating with project managers, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Interpreting Drawings & Documents : Analyse architectural, engineering, and GIS drawings to estimate project scope and costs.
  • Cost Estimation & Reporting : Compile project scope, pricing components, and detailed estimates into comprehensive reports for clients.
  • Client Consultation : Provide guidance to clients on how to use estimation reports and build upon the provided work.
  • Continuous Learning : Stay abreast of the latest software tools, industry trends, and best practices in engineering, estimation, and CAD technologies.
  • Collaboration & Communication : Foster effective communication with customers and internal teams to ensure project accuracy and client satisfaction.
  • Documentation Management : Maintain accurate and organised project documentation and ensure updates are made in a timely manner.


Qualifications:

  • Educational Background : Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering .
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, QGIS/ArcGIS).
  • Analytical Skills : Strong ability to analyse data, think critically, and make sound decisions.
  • Communication : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with customers and team members.
  • Multi-tasking : Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
  • Excel Proficiency : Strong command of Excel , including creating dashboards and data analysis.
  • Strategic Thinking : Experience in supporting strategic decision-making processes within teams or organisation.


Bonus Skills:

We’d be impressed if you also have:

  • Experience with SQL , Tabula , and Power BI for data visualisation and reporting.
  • Advanced skills in Excel , especially in dashboard creation and data management.
  • A keen desire to up-skill and stay on top of emerging industry trends and tools.
