Job Summary

The Assistant Manager, IT, will support the CIO in overseeing the daily operations of the IT

department. This role involves managing IT infrastructure, providing technical support,

coordinating with vendors, and assisting in the implementation of IT strategies and projects. The

ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills, with the ability to

effectively manage IT tasks and support the team.


Key Responsibilities


1. IT Operations Support

  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the IT department, including overseeing systems, networks, and applications.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of IT services.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot IT issues, providing technical support to end-users.


2. Project Assistance

  • Support the IT Manager in planning and executing IT projects.
  • Coordinate with team members and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Assist in the documentation and reporting of project progress.


3. Team Coordination

  • Provide guidance and support to IT staff, helping to resolve technical issues and improve their skills.
  • Participate in team meetings, providing input on IT operations and project status.
  • Assist in training and onboarding new IT team members.


4. Vendor and Resource Management

  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery of

services and products.

  • Assist in managing IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses.
  • Support the IT Manager in budget tracking and cost management.


5. Security and Compliance

  • Assist in implementing cybersecurity measures to protect the organization’s IT

infrastructure.

  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks.


6. User Support and Training

  • Provide technical support to employees, resolving issues related to IT systems and applications.
  • Conduct training sessions to help users effectively utilize IT resources.
  • Create and maintain user guides and documentation.


7. Disaster Recovery and Backup

  • Support the development and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Ensure regular backups are performed and data integrity is maintained.
  • Assist in testing and updating recovery procedures.


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science with Certification in Information Technology,

Computer Science, or a related field.


Experience:

4-6 years of experience in IT, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

Experience in managing IT operations and providing technical support.

Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISCO, CompTIA, ITIL, or equivalent are a plus.


Skills and Competencies

  • Strong technical skills in IT infrastructure, systems, and networks.
  • Good leadership and team coordination abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity practices and principles.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to IT management.


Working Conditions

Office environment with occasional requirements for off-hours work to handle emergencies or critical tasks.

May involve occasional travel to other company locations.
