About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 20 years of experience working with the Microsoft data stack and a proven track record of designing and implementing complex data solutions. As a Senior Principal Data Architect you will be expected to design, create, deploy, and manage Blackbaud’s corporate data architecture. You will define how our data is stored, consumed, integrated, secured, and managed by different data entities and IT systems, as well as any applications using or processing that data in some way.
What you’ll do
Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data architecture.
Develop strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database.
Work in a cross-functional team to translate business needs into data architecture solutions.
Ensure data solutions are built for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Mentor junior data architects and team members.
Develop data models for database structures
Design, deploy, and manage data systems and databases
Ensuring data solutions are built for performance and design analytics applications for multiple platforms
Collaborating with IT teams and management to devise a data strategy that addresses industry requirements
Building an inventory of data needed to implement the architecture
Establishing data policies, standards, organization, and enforcement of data governance
What you’ll bring
12 or more years of experience with Microsoft data stack
Expertise in SQL Server, Azure Data Services, and other Microsoft data technologies
Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data lakes
Experience with big data technologies and machine learning
Excellent communication and leadership skills
