Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned and strategic Head of Commodities to lead our commodity investment division. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for commodity investments, managing commodity portfolios, and driving the overall performance of the commodity assets. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commodity markets, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record in asset management.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Leadership and Strategy:

- Lead and manage the commodities team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

- Develop and implement comprehensive commodity investment strategies aligned with the family office's overall investment objectives.

- Provide strategic direction and guidance on commodity market trends, investment opportunities, and risk management.


2. Portfolio Management:

- Oversee the management of commodity portfolios, including energy, metals, agricultural products, and other commodities.

- Conduct in-depth market analysis and research to identify and capitalize on investment opportunities.

- Develop and execute trading strategies to optimize returns and manage risks associated with commodity investments.


3. Risk Management:

- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with commodity investments.

- Develop and implement risk management frameworks and policies to ensure prudent risk-taking and compliance with regulatory requirements.

- Monitor market developments, geopolitical events, and economic conditions that may impact commodity prices and portfolio performance.


4. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

- Monitor and evaluate the performance of commodity investments and portfolios, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.

- Develop and maintain performance metrics and benchmarks to assess the effectiveness of investment strategies.

- Prepare and present detailed reports and analyses to the investment committee and stakeholders.


5. Stakeholder Management:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including family members, investment committees, and external partners.

- Communicate investment strategies, performance, and market insights effectively to stakeholders.

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of commodity strategies with overall asset management objectives.


6. Research and Development:

- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes impacting commodity markets.

- Conduct ongoing research and analysis to enhance investment strategies and identify new opportunities.

- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the commodities team.


Qualifications:


- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA) preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in trading on MCX or equivalent exchanges. Must have international commodity trading experience. Preferably candidate should have traded physical commodities. Ideal candidates are traders/ brokers in MCX.

- Proven track record of successful commodity investments and portfolio management.

- Strong understanding of commodity markets, trading strategies, and risk management principles.

- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.

- Effective communication and presentation skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
