Role-Specific:• Demonstrate best practices and depth of skill in applying principles of good UI/visual design to create visually compelling and consistent product interfaces.• Plan, conduct, and analyse strategic research activities to discover, understand, and define customer jobs, pains, gains, and journeys.• Utilize a Lean/hypothesis-driven approach to research and design, identifying minimum viable solutions to customer problems and iteratively validating assumptions through fast feedback loops.• Apply insights, analysis, and creativity to execute strategies and drive desired outcomes for customers and the business, shaping initiatives and informing the product roadmap.• Comfortable facilitating workshops with cross functional teams.

Communication:Regularly present research and design work to wider product and design teams. Share work early and often for feedback, and communicate approach, progress, and results openly and clearly.

Business Knowledge:Actively engage with strategy as part of a wider leadership group, understanding broad strategic intent and translating initiatives into measurable ideas and experiments

Technical Skills Needed• Design & Prototyping Proficiency: Expertise in Figma, Sketch, or similar tools. Familiarity with Axure or equivalent.• User Research Techniques: Proficient in various user research methodologies, including interviews, usability testing, surveys, and A/B testing.• Front-End Development: Understanding of modern FE languages and frameworks.• Comfortable using AI productivity tools.

Soft Skills NeededEmotional Intelligence:• Display empathy towards colleagues and users of our products.• Approach challenges optimistically and pragmatically.• Commit to decisions even amidst disagreement.

Experience Needed• Strong portfolio demonstrating zero to one or complex initiatives.• Experience influencing senior stakeholders to drive customer centricity• Experience leading changes to an established design system• Experience collaborating with engineering to support UI development, providing concise handovers & best practices.• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, operating as a co-lead with product management and engineering decision makers• Strong skills in visual design, interaction design, prototyping• Comfortable working on multiple projects operating at different paces• Able to manage and prioritize time• Are skilled in explaining your work, process, and decisions to cross-functional stakeholders and crave feedback to help you produce your best work Qualifications Needed• Formal education in HCI, UX or related disciplines is desired but not required.• Undergraduate degree in business, sciences incl. Social sciences are desired.
