About the Role:

Pepi Digital is looking for a CFX (Character FX) Artist with hands-on experience in cloth simulation, hair & fur dynamics, and real-time integration. If you love breathing life into characters through secondary motion and dynamic effects, this role is for you.

As part of our animation team, you will be responsible for crafting realistic cloth behavior, hair flow, accessories movement, and soft-body physics that elevate storytelling and visual appeal in both cinematic and commercial work.

Key Responsibilities:

Create and simulate realistic cloth, hair, fur, and accessory dynamics using tools like Marvelous Designer, Maya nCloth, Houdini, and Unreal Engine.

Collaborate with modeling, rigging, and animation teams to ensure seamless FX performance on characters.

Handle dynamic simulations for ethnic garments, flowing gowns, turbans, scarves, jewelry, and other secondary elements.

Work on both stylized and photorealistic projects, ensuring physical accuracy and visual beauty.

Simulate FX for animated IPs, cinematic brand videos, and immersive product showcase projects.

Optimize simulations for both offline rendering and real-time playback in Unreal Engine.

Troubleshoot technical issues related to collisions, clipping, or performance and ensure final outputs meet creative expectations.

Required Skills & Experience:

2+ years of professional experience as a CFX Artist in animation, film, or 3D production.

Proficiency in:

Marvelous Designer – for accurate garment creation and simulation.

Autodesk Maya – for cloth (nCloth), hair (nHair), and general character FX.

Houdini – for advanced VFX and procedural simulations.

Unreal Engine – for real-time character integration and FX playback.

Solid understanding of fabric behavior, physics simulation, and motion dynamics.

Ability to work with rigged characters and troubleshoot FX-related issues.
