Tools Design Engineer

Job Title: Tooling Manager/ Sr. Mold Design Engineer (CATIA) Location: (Pune) Department: Tool Engineering Reports To: Engineering Head Employment Type: Full-time Key Responsibilities: Design and develop 2D and 3D mold components, assemblies, and complete tool designs using CATIA V5/V6 . Collaborate with product design, and tooling teams to ensure design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles are met. Analyze product geometry for parting lines, draft angles, undercuts, and gate locations. Create detailed mold layout drawings, core and cavity designs, cooling circuits, ejector systems, and bill of materials (BOM). Conduct design reviews with international customers on daily basis and make necessary modifications to meet performance, quality, and cost targets. Maintain design documentation (End of Arm Study, Feasibility Report Generation), revision control, and ensure compliance with customer standards. Continuously improve mold design processes, introducing innovative solutions for tooling efficiency and longevity. Qualifications and Skills: Diploma in Tool & Die making (NTTF, Indo German Tool Room, CIPET) Tool Design, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in mold design (injection molding). Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 (Part Design, Assembly Design, Surface Design, Drafting, and Mold Tooling Design workbenches). Strong understanding of plastic materials, mold construction, and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of GD&T, DFM, DFA, and can run mold design operations using macros. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple international projects and meet deadlines under minimal supervision. Familiarity with North American mold design standards Preferred Experience: Experience with Catia, is an asset. Exposure to automotive, consumer goods, tooling industries.
