Position : Android Bringup Developer

Location : Bangalore

Experience : 4 to 8 years

Job Description :

We are looking for a highly skilled Android Bringup Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for porting an existing implementation from Linux to Android. This is a challenging and dynamic role that requires hands-on experience with Android AOSP, HAL, and porting. You will work with cutting-edge technologies and help shape the future of Android bringup on new hardware platforms.

Key Responsibilities :


-Port an existing implementation on Linux to Android.


- Work on Android bringup, including bootloader, fastboot, partitioning, and kernel bringup.


- Develop and integrate Android HAL layers to support new hardware.


- Debug and resolve hardware and software integration issues during the bringup process.


- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, to ensure seamless integration.


- Work with build systems such as Bazel and Soong, and manage configuration using Makefiles.


- Optimize the Android boot process, focusing on Android 12/13.


Mandatory Skills :

- Android AOSP, Android HAL, and Porting expertise.


- Strong proficiency in C programming.


- Proven experience in Android bringup, working with uboot, bootloader, fastboot, and partitioning.


- Deep understanding of SoC architectures, hardware schematics, and hardware/software integration.


- Hands-on experience with Linux kernel development and modifications.


- Familiarity with build systems such as Bazel, Soong, and Makefiles.


- Experience with the Android 12/13 boot process.


Good to Have :

- Proficiency in Git for version control and patching processes.


- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation and testing.


- Knowledge of Android security mechanisms and secure boot implementation.


- Familiarity with debugging tools like JTAG, GDB, and log analysis for resolving kernel crashes and other low-level issues.


Non-Technical Skills :


- Analytical thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex software and hardware integration issues.


- Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.


- Self-management: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to a fast-paced environment with a proactive attitude.
