We have an opportunity to impact your career and provide an adventure where you can push the limits of what's possible.As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking in Architecture & Engineering team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.You will create next generation of API Platform for Chase and you will lead and grow various aspects of API Platform and provide technical guidance and direction to advance our API product strategy so that our partner developers, internal developers, and business decision-makers can innovate and ship products for our customers faster.Job responsibilitiesFacilitate API platform modernization using technologies regarding cloud based microservice applications, event-based communication, and data at the edge with eventual consistency.Build scalable and resilient API platform, services, and tooling to support all stages of API lifecycle. Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in API Marketplace.Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of API platform, tools, and practices of the API Development Life Cycle. Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others. Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies. Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respectRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skillsFormal training or certification on Java programming concepts and 5+ years applied experience.Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages in addition to Java8+ years hands-on experience of developing micro services using Java and Spring Boot. Knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms.Experience in development/support of REST API interfaces (SpringBoot, gRPC, Swagger, Flask), SQL and No-SQL technologies.Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experienceHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityAdvanced in one or more programming language(s). Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods. Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, . In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems. Practical cloud native experiencePreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Experience with products related to APIs, SDKs, first party and third-party Developer Platforms and IAM (Identity and Access Management). Experience in API Management platforms, API Gateways, API Catalog and a deep understanding of API technologies – REST, GraphQL, gRPC.Experience with container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes. Strong understanding of hybrid cloud strategy and cloud computing technologies including Cloud Foundry, AWS (Amazon Web Services).5+ years hands-on experience of building distributed system with micro-services. 5+ years hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL (Cassandra preferred). 3+ years hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes. 3+ years hands-on experience with event driven app architecture (Kafka preferred)3+ years hands-on experience deploying and running workloads on AWS (preferably using EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service). Experience with other cloud platforms (Google, Azure) a plus.Knowledge of other JVM languages such as Kotlin or Scala a plus
