Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Grade 2 Pharmacy Technicians to join the Pharmacy Department at Northern's new site - Mernda Community Hospital. About Northern Health: Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg. About the Role: The position is responsible for assisting in the efficient dispensing and supply of medicines to all clients of Northern Health. The Pharmacy Technician will work under the supervision of a qualified pharmacist to deliver outstanding care for patients. Specifically, the Pharmacy Technician will be required to support out Mernda Community Hospital, however staff are required to travel and work across all sites of Northern Health and partner organisations. This position is fixed term part time (16 hours per fortnight) until November 2027 This position is responsible for: The Grade 2 Pharmacy Technician has responsibility for participation in the pharmacy service. They assist pharmacists in those aspects of the dispensing process that do not require the exercise of professional judgement and take part in medication distribution activities. They will work collaboratively to achieve the strategic outcome of the Pharmacy Department and may be requested to be involved in the recording of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other required statistics. The role will require staff to be flexible with their working hours to meet the changing operations demands and can include working after hours, on weekends and public holidays. Compliance with mandatory training as per NH Policy is a requirement of this role. Failure to complete this training within required timeframes may result in a suspension of duties until training is completed. To be successful in this role you will have: Experience and good working knowledge of Hospital Pharmacy practice Proven ability to work as a part of a team Demonstrated abilities to work independently and meet deadlines.
