Warden

We are seeking an experienced and responsible Warden to oversee the daily operations and management of our residential facility. The candidate is required to ensure the safety, security, and well-being of the athletes while maintaining a positive and supportive living environment.Key ResponsibilitiesInteracting with athletes, as a collective as well as individuallyTaking an interest in athletes activities in the residenceAssisting athletes with issues and finding resolutionsAttending of training programmes and discussion groups for WardensEnsuring the Athletes Disciplinary Code is being followedHouse regulations are adhered to and the appropriate disciplinary action taken where necessaryAssist in organizing regular fire, emergency and safety checks and drills in the residences in consultation with the Campus Protection UnitEnsure that suitable arrangements are made for emergenciesDeal with athlete issues such as any threats to the physical or emotional well-being of the studentsRequirementsAn understanding of the dynamics of residence life and the realities facing athletesAn ability to work independently (self-motivated with a keen sense of responsibility)Ability to cope with multiple demands (stress management)Sound conflict management skills with a high level of assertivenessStrong staff management skills, including the ability to manage in a participative way, the ability to delegateInterpersonal skills (the ability to build rapport with others and to instill confidence in others)Sound communication skillsSound administrative skillsGenuine interest in students, with the ability to deal with diversityCounselling skills
