CNC Operator- EDM Technician

*Position Summary:
The
EDM Technician Advanced *
is responsible for setting up and operating Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment used to cut tools and components. The EDM Technician Advanced will be responsible for machining a quality product that meets company and customer expectations, while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. The incumbent has demonstrated experience machining components to tight tolerances and is familiar with working independently

*Work You'll Do: *

• Determine machining requirements, dimensional specifications, and set up requirements from process sheets and blueprints;
• Perform set up and operation of wire and sinker EDM machines in support of production;
• Create programmes as per blueprints using the current machine program software provided;
• Design the electrode required to perform the required dimensions and geometry as per part blueprint;
• Design any required fixturing / work holding;
• Select, preset and adjust settings needed for optimal spark gaps, speed and tolerances;
• Ensure effective production of quality parts by completing in-process and final checks using gauges and measuring equipment;
• Observe numerical displays on control panel and compare with data on process sheet to verify dimensional adjustments;
• Ensure that all machining tasks are completed in accordance with specified run times;

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, ITI, BE or Any Equivalent
