Designation / Title : Endoscopy Technician

Department : Gastroenterology

Overall Role :

Assist Gastroenterologists in performing endoscopic procedures, set up and operate endoscopy machine for technical and supportive patient care tasks.

Responsibilities and key tasks :

• Prepare and set up the endoscopy room, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in working order.
• Assist healthcare professionals in performing endoscopic procedures by providing technical support and maintaining a sterile field.
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopy equipment, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
• Retrieve and process specimens for laboratory analysis, ensuring proper documentation and storage.
• Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including documentation of procedures performed, patient vitals, and any complications or adverse events.
• Assist with patient positioning and comfort during endoscopic procedures, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Monitor patients during procedures, promptly reporting any changes in their condition to the healthcare team.
• Assist with the troubleshooting and maintenance of endoscopy equipment, coordinating repairs when necessary.
• To maintain all the official records.
• Responsible for the preparation of all statistical reports.
• Any other work assigned by HOD.

Position : Qualification and other requirements:

Educational Qualifications/ Experience

• Diploma in OT Technician / 3-5 yrs of relevant experience.

Technical Competence

• Analytical skills
• Good knowledge of computers
