Role Description:

Senior BI Consultant working within the medical communications domain with

experience in PowerBI/PowerBI Embedded.

What is the role?

• Leading the design and development of reports, dashboards, and other

front-end reporting solutions

• Taking direct responsibility for part or all the front-end solution delivery

• Contributing to Low-Level Design Documents, particularly leading the

Front-End Reporting section

• Understanding client requirements and translating them into effective

data visualisation designs

• Proactively identifying and resolving reporting challenges before they

impact project delivery

• Collaborating with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to ensure seamless integration of reporting solutions with underlying data models

• Presenting reporting solutions to clients and gathering feedback for improvements

• Communicating directly with stakeholders to understand their needs and manage expectations

• Implementing data governance and best practices in reporting solutions

• Leading project planning and providing accurate estimations for reporting components

• Managing your own workload and effectively delegating tasks to junior team members

• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior consultants

What is needed?

• Proven ability to deliver successful data visualisation solutions in real-

world projects

• Strong understanding of data modelling following Kimball methodology

• At least 3+ years' experience with Power BI, including strong UX design,

data model optimisation and Power BI Service. Other visualisation tools are considered.

• Hands-on experience with Power BI Embedded and templated reporting, including deep familiarity with PBIX, PBIT, PBIDS, and PBIP (TMSL) file formats to support scalable and maintainable reporting solutions.

• Experience designing and implementing templated reporting solutions, enabling scalable and customisable analytics experiences within client applications.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the components of a data solution (data ingestion, transformation, modelling, and visualisation)

• Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences

• Strong ability to estimate timelines and contribute to detailed technical discussions

• Self-motivation and the drive to independently research and implement solutions

• Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake or Azure

• Experience presenting solutions to clients and stakeholders

• Ability to build rapport with stakeholders and understand their business challenges

• Understanding of project lifecycle documentation and solution design

• Familiarity with data science concepts and how they integrate with BI solutions

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities autonomously

• Ability to manage your own and junior team members' workloads, effectively delegating tasks

Nice to have

• Experience with PowerApps and Power Automate for extending reporting capabilities

• Experience with Figma or other UX design tools for report wireframing

• Basic understanding of Python

• Experience working in relevant sectors (e.g., manufacturing, energy, public sector, automotive, utilities)

• Knowledge of emerging BI trends and technologies
