Pyxera Global India, an NGO headquartered in Washington DC, is leading a project to form a Cooperative for Solid Waste Management in Guwahati, Assam, India scheduled to conclude on June 10, 2025. Pyxera Global India would like to hire a part-time local project consultant currently residing in Guwahati to provide strategic and on-ground support to the Pyxera Global India Project Manager.

The selected local project consultant’s main responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following:

General Administration:

  1. Coordinate with Pyxera Global India Private Limited to prepare and carry out assignments in the field, including but not limited to, regular reporting and status updates on project activities, providing support to the ground team in Guwahati, and ensuring seamless communication.
  2. Conducting check-ins with partners to ensure alignment on deliverables and timelines.
  3. Act as the on-the-ground point of contact for Pyxera Global India Private Limited and its stakeholders in Guwahati, Assam.
  4. The Consultant will serve as a local representative, coordinating meetings, and resolving any community-level challenges.
  5. Support the planning and execution of on-ground events, including but not limited to, Health Camps, Training Sessions, Closing, and other key events.

Co-lead Business Model Development:

  1. Collaborate with partners to identify and engage potential stakeholders to discuss and explore viable business models.
  2. Attend meetings and community gatherings in furtherance of the project's Business Model Development objectives. Represent to discuss and explore viable business models, Pyxera Global India Private Limited’s interests and provide feedback and updates on the progress of these discussions.
  3. Provide additional coordination and support to Pyxera Global India Private Limited beyond the above-described tasks as necessary, particularly regarding the development and refinement of the business model.

Support SHG and Cooperative Formation:

  1. Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to support SHG and Cooperative formation
  2. Attend meetings and community gatherings in furtherance of the SHG and Cooperative formation.
  3. Provide additional coordination and support to Pyxera Global India Private Limited beyond the above-described tasks as necessary, particularly regarding the formation of SHG and the Cooperative.

Support On-Ground Partners:

  1. Act as the liaison between Pyxera Global India Private Limited on-ground partners. The Consultant will ensure that communication between partners is clear and timely.
  2. Address any issues that arise on the ground and relay key concerns to Pyxera Global India Private Limited.
  3. Arrange and facilitate meetings with key stakeholders when necessary, ensuring all logistical and communication needs are addressed in advance.
  4. Provide follow-up with stakeholders post-meetings to ensure action items are addressed and progress is made.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  1. Must have residence in Guwahati with in-depth area familiarity.
  2. College degree in project management, organizational development, sustainability, NGO management, communications, or related field.
  3. Minimum of 10-15 years of experience.
  4. Exceptional writing and communications skills.
  5. Experience in social impact
  6. Awareness of the local social impact ecosystem
  7. Ability to multi-task and manage diverse tasks simultaneously.
  8. Flexible and able to work in a team, as well as individually with limited supervision.
  9. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  10. Fluent in English, Hindi, and Assamese
  11. Exceptional customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Salary

This is a part-time consultant position with an estimated timeline of 5-6 months with an immediate start date . Pay is based on past experience and the type of work required for this position. The selected local project consultant will be paid in the local currency of the country in which the work is completed.
