Role Description
AnaiYah Services LLP is seeking a talented Assistant Fashion Designer (AFD) with a flair for Sustainable Handcrafted women’s wear, to join our team in Bangalore on a full-time basis. The AFD will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing apparel designs that adhere to the brand's aesthetic and quality standards. The AFD will work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, production, and sales teams, to improve the overall design process and time to market.
This is a full-time on-site role as an Assistant Fashion Designer at a fashion company located in Bengaluru. As an Assistant Fashion Designer, you will be responsible for assisting with various tasks in the design process, including research, sketching, and creating tech packs. You will collaborate with senior designers and other team members to contribute to the creation of new collections and ensure the timely execution of design projects.
Responsibilities:
-Develop and produce comprehensive tech packs for women’s clothing and accessories.
-Illustrate design concepts with a focus on technical accuracy and feasibility.
-Create and maintain accurate size charts and measurement specifications for garments.
-Work collaboratively with the design team to bring creative ideas to life in a practical, producible manner.
-Conduct research on materials, textiles, and trends to ensure high-quality and innovative product designs.
-Manage multiple design projects with adherence to deadlines and technical standards
-Conceptualize and design fashion collections that align with the brand's vision and target audience.
-Create detailed sketches and technical drawings to communicate design concepts to the production team.
-Stay ahead of current fashion trends, materials, and techniques to ensure innovative and market-relevant designs, incorporating a blend of contemporary and traditional elements into designs.
-Collaborate with the fabric designing head/Founder/CEO to develop seasonal themes, color palettes, and fabric selections.
-Work closely with the production team(in-house and outsourced) to oversee the manufacturing process, ensuring designs are executed with precision and quality.
-Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and consumer preferences.
Requirements:
-Degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field.
-Strong skill set in textile drawing, garment construction, and technical detailing.
-Proficient in producing detailed tech packs and design specifications.
-Solid understanding of textile properties, garment fitting, and size chart development.
-Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
-Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
-Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant design software
-Excellent communication and collaboration skills
-Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
-Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of tailors and interns
-Experience working with sustainable and eco-friendly materials is a plus
Qualifications
Strong understanding of fashion design principles, including color theory, fabric selection, and garment construction
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow design specifications
Ability to sketch and create tech packs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Knowledge of current fashion trends and market trends
Previous experience or education in fashion design is preferred
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field is a plus
