Role Overview:

To deliver electrical and power system design assurance of the operating Oil & Gas facilities in compliance with Regulatory, Company and International Codes & Standards for carrying out plant modifications, brownfield project work and asset integrity related work (including preparing design deliverables, review / approval of the same by engineering contractors) and providing necessary O & M technical support

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to excellent HSSE performance in support of the Head of Engineering Assurance accountabilities
• Provide discipline input into Asset Integrity, Brownfield Projects & Operations / Maintenance work Provide discipline input into the Management of Change
• Provide discipline input into Operations Risk Assessment and other risk workshops as per Company standards and follow up on engineering related actions relating to risk response action plans
• Review of concession requests relating to discipline and SCE elements.
• Serve as the Barrier Owner with accountability for related SCE elements in the Operational Performance Standard / Safety Case
• Monitor on a continuous basis that the equipment / system performs within the design envelope & associated SCE performance standards
• As the Barrier Owner with accountability for related SCE elements, deliver the process for design verification by a third party for corresponding SCE elements.
• Provide day-to-day competent advice to the operations team within the discipline
• Establish the requirements for design deliverables relating to electrical discipline for brownfield / modification projects
• Ensure that codes, standards and functional specifications for electrical equipment and power system design are suitable for their corresponding applications.
• Undertake a review of previous lessons learned, consider and incorporate appropriate learning into the design.
• Participate in HAZIDs, HAZOPs, SAFOP and other HSSE- related reviews.
• Participate in Incident Investigations and Root Cause Analysis
• Provide support for Inspection and Repair
• Undertake Base support & Offshore Travel as per assigned Rota to meet the above job requirements and upon any requests from operations.
• Prepare discipline engineering deliverables and provide input into scopes of work where such work is to be executed through a Consultancy organization o Monitor progress of the development of design deliverables and propose corrective actions in the event of potential schedule overrun.
• Prepare technical and progress reports to support flow of key information to management to assist in decision making.
• Participate in the procurement process (e.g. ITT requisition packages) through the evaluation of technical submissions including technical pre-qualification of vendors.
• Support Operations in the development of the Operations Assurance Plan that describes the operational activities, assurance requirements and deliverables, including plans for readiness for handover and commissioning and approve same.
• Carry out the periodic competence assessment of the offshore Responsible Person Electrical (RPE)
• Assist with the development of operating manuals and ensure that the manuals relating to piping and ancillary equipment are provided as approved documents.
• Provide input to Bid for new projects / operating units

Candidate Requirements:

• Extensive in-depth electrical and power system design experience of 15-20 years covering OFFSHORE oil and gas production facilities preferably of FPSOs in a DESIGN environment. Experience in OFFSHORE facilities design is a MUST.
• Degree qualified in relevant engineering discipline. Proficient in the application of functional assurance processes with the ability to analyze problems, assess risk profiles, determine action, and develop solutions, communicating intentions and progress to all levels.
• Combination Experience of working within an Oil & Gas Operating Company is preferred and a significant advantage

Strong knowledge of:

• Medium Voltage Power Systems, Power Generation & Distribution
• Hazardous Area Equipment and IEC 60079 / ATEX standards
• Power Management / Load Shedding Systems
• Proficient in ETAP, EDSA, or equivalent tools.
• Good interpersonal, team collaboration, and presentation skills.
• Must be willing to travel offshore as per project requirements.
