Greetings from CFC Hospitals,
- Ensures that medical records are complete, accurate, and conform to accepted NABH Accredited Hospitals and state boards of health standards, reporting to the Medical Records Committee any variations noted and new regulations or requirements, in accordance with standard medical records practices.
- Trains staff in coding, indexing, filing, preparing and displaying of information, medical terminology nomenclature and classification of diseases, and computer services including such related matters as hospital organization, goals, policies and practices, and medical records ethics, laws and regulations.
- Supervises and monitors the release of confidential information in accordance with rules and regulations.
- Compiles statistical information and registers pertaining to the medical records department, ancillary services, and other hospital statistical information as assigned or requested. Supervises and coordinates the preparation of statistical information for medical staff, medical staff committees, accreditation agencies, state agencies, and the administration.
- Monitors communicable diseases and reports to the government authorities through the infection control officer.
- To establish, organize and manage medical record department with appropriate system that can provide effective service in the hospital and effective supervision of the staff for efficient functioning of the department
- To develop policies and procedures relating to MRD in accordance with the state and protect medical records in accordance with national retention, preservation, preservation and destruction policies.
- To coordinate with Medical Record Committee, design and develop different medical record forms required for hospital use.
- To review the medical records of outpatients, inpatients to ensure that they include all important documents and pertinent information to meet clinical, administrative and legal requirement.
- To cooperate with the medical nursing and other staff in patient care and completing the patient medical records.
- To prepare Weekly, monthly, yearly statistical reports containing the hospital activities carried out and submit to the concerned authorities with suggestion to improve patient care services.
- To participate and assist in research programs for improving the administrative activities and financial control and prepare departmental budget and annual report of MRD activities.
- To protect confidentiality of information from unauthorized and keep medical legal cases under safe custody.
To perform other duties and responsibilities related to medical records services as may be assigned by the hospital administration.
