Director of Information Security

Mandate Skills: HIPAA, NIST, CISSP or CISM, Cyber security management, privacy policies, PCI-DSS, CIS, procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Global Cybersecurity Strategy Alignment: Collaborate with both the India and US cybersecurity teams to align their strategies and initiatives.
- Ensure that the goals and actions of both teams are coherent and contribute to the overall cybersecurity objectives of the company.
- Cross-Cultural Communication and Coordination: Act as a bridge between the India and US cybersecurity teams, facilitating effective communication, understanding, and collaboration across time zones.
- Ensure that information flows smoothly between the two teams and that any miscommunications are resolved promptly.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risks in a manner that safeguards business continuity and aligns with the liaison role between the India and US Cyber Security teams.
- Compliance: Ensure alignment of all cybersecurity policies and protocols with the regulatory and legislative requisites of both India and the US.
- Knowledge Sharing and Best Practices: Facilitate the exchange of knowledge, insights, and best practices between the India and US teams.
- Organize regular knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, and forums to enable both teams to learn from each other's experiences and expertise.
- Joint Incident Response Planning: Coordinate joint incident response planning and exercises between the India and US teams.
- Ensure that incident response procedures are harmonized, and the teams are prepared to collaborate effectively in the event of a security incident that spans both regions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business leaders, IT, and external vendors to integrate cybersecurity considerations into business processes.
- Team Leadership: Oversee the cybersecurity team, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance assessments.
- Language and Documentation Standardization: Establish standards for documentation, including incident reports, strategy documents, and policies, that accommodate language differences.
- Ensure that all documents are clear, accurate, and understandable to both teams.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the cybersecurity budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
- Awareness and Training: Spearheaded initiatives to raise cybersecurity awareness and provide training across the organization.
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in cross-team processes, communication, and collaboration.
- Implement feedback mechanisms to gather insights from team members and stakeholders, fostering ongoing refinement of the liaison role.
EXPERTISE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor- s or Master- s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Familiarity with India's cybersecurity regulations and standards.
- Strong understanding of security technologies, architectures, and best practices.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven track record of managing and mentoring high-performance teams.
