Job Summary :


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our SQL Server databases, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability. You will play a critical role in supporting our business operations by providing database expertise and troubleshooting database-related issues.


Key Responsibilities :


Database Administration :


- Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server instances and databases.


- Manage database security, including user permissions, roles, and encryption.


- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.


- Perform routine database maintenance tasks, such as backups, restores, and indexing.


- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, errors, and data corruption.


Database Design and Development :


- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database schemas and data models.


- Write and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures.


- Develop and maintain database scripts for automation and maintenance tasks.


Data Security and Compliance :


- Implement and enforce data security policies and procedures.


- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.


- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and security standards.


Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity :


- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for SQL Server environments.


- Test and validate disaster recovery procedures regularly.


- Implement high-availability solutions to ensure business continuity.


Required Skills and Qualifications :


- Strong proficiency in SQL Server administration, including database design, implementation, and maintenance.


- In-depth knowledge of SQL Server T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.


- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.


- Understanding of database security best practices and threat mitigation strategies.


- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.


- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.


- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE: Data Platform) preferred.


Preferred Skills :


- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS).


- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).


- Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence concepts.
