AKS Architect – Arch I

Job Description Overview

This is a motivated and passionate AKS Architect interested in joining a consulting practice. This candidate is a practitioner of cutting-edge automation tools and provisioning in a public cloud provider – Azure, AWS, or GCP preferred – as well as a strong cloud architect, designing a deploying well-architected cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer-facing roles and success delivering cloud solutions with IaC automation on projects.

What you’ll do for Insight:

Be eager to learn and stay up to date on new and emerging cloud technologiesWork as part of Insight and client teams, following Agile/Scrum approaches and ceremoniesCommunicate effectively and professionally with teammates, client personnel, and client stakeholdersAs a AKS ArchitectHands-on expertise in implementing AKS solutions.AKS Kubernetes Infrastructure large number of clusters Multiple AKS clusters, AKS using ACR, Azure DevOps CI-CD pipelineSetup Ingress/Egress load balancer, Akamai DNS serviceIntegrate Azure firewall integrationBe a technical champion for customerDevelop hybrid cloud reference architecture, Define target state cloud architecture.Provide design, engineering, development, planning, and administration of Azure Kubernetes AKS clusters for a set of critical business applications.Provide design, engineering, development, planning and administration of Azure PaaS and IaaS services through extensive use of automation and terraform.Work closely with the application, engineering, security, and operations teams to engineer and build Kubernetes and Azure PaaS & IaaS solutions within an agile and modern enterprise-grade operating model.Design solutions for Kubernetes based architecture while making sure the best practices are followedAbility to create infrastructure as a code.Implement the SRE principles.Design deployment architecture for IaaS / SaaS /PaaS that will address client’s business needs and lead teams that will implement them for our clients.Experience with migrating workloads to AKS.DevOps and Agile methodologies, processes and toolsConfidently articulates all aspects of the solution and persuasively communicate value to the client.Work individually, within teams, or as a leader, to determine customer requirements in complex and ambiguous environments.Development of operating model for the above environments and facilitating handover to business and IT operations teams

REQUIREMENTS

Background and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferredCertifications in relevant technologies, cloud providers, or demonstration of ongoing learning7+ years of experience in consulting services or similar roles focused on project-based work, and/or solution development.3+ years of leading teammates or being part of large teams on projects

Technical Skills

Expert understanding of cloud infrastructure, primarily Azure.Strong AKS experienceMicroservices architecture, and Hybrid cloud integration architecture.Expert with Cloud Adoption Frameworks and Well-Architected Frameworks; have solid experience delivering CAF and WAF engagementsExperience with on-prem to cloud migrationsExperience designing and deploying cloud architectures that include disaster recovery sites, as well as designing, implementing and executing failovers and failbacksIn-depth experience in automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Configuration-as-Code (CaC) and management of cloud hosted resourcesExperience working in a DevOps and Agile cultureExperience with DevOps and IaC tools such as Hashicorp Terraform, Azure Bicep, CloudFormation, Ansible, Jenkins is preferredExperience in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing is a preferredExperience with continuous integration/continuous delivery tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins and/or GitLab CI/CDStrong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, Python, Go, and/or RubyExperience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, and PuppetFamiliarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, as well as knowledge in container architectures and deploymentBackground in application development, .Net, or other development frameworks is a plusBackground in systems engineering, networking, and server infrastructure is helpfulAzure Cloud architect certified
