Job Description :


We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mainframe Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both mainframe and non-mainframe environments, with extensive knowledge of Mainframe, z/OS, COBOL, JCL/DB2/VSAM, and a range of payment systems and financial messaging standards.


This role will involve managing vendor-supplied software, overseeing installations, patching, vulnerability management, and scripting, as well as working with various simulation and monitoring tools.

Key Responsibilities :

Mainframe Management : (Mandatory)

- Manage and maintain mainframe environments, including z/OS, COBOL, JCL/DB2/VSAM.

- Utilize tools like Control-M, Connect, OPCA, and STC to optimize mainframe operations.

- Support and enhance payment systems, including acquiring, issuing, and processing payments on mainframe platforms.

- Implement, monitor, and maintain Connex z/OS (FIS) and Ironstream (Precisely).

Non-Mainframe Management : (Optional, understanding will be sufficient)

- Manage and support cloud environments, as well as Windows, Linux/RedHat, and Tomcat servers.

- Ensure seamless integration between mainframe and non-mainframe systems.

- Oversee installation and patching, including vulnerability detection and patching across various platforms.

Payments Systems & Financial Messaging :

- Support payment systems with deep expertise in financial messaging standards, including AS2805, ISO8583, and ISO20022. (Mandatory)

- Manage and configure simulation tools like PAYsim/FINsim (ChangeFinancial), VISA simulator, MasterCard simulator, and UPI simulator. (Good to have)

Monitoring and Reporting : (Mandatory)

- Implement and manage monitoring solutions such as Splunk and OpenSearch.

- Use Data Navigator Reporting (FIS) for generating reports and providing actionable insights.

Scripting and Automation : (Good to have)

- Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks and processes in both mainframe and non-mainframe environments.

Qualifications :

Experience :

- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in mainframe environments with Mainframe, z/OS, COBOL, JCL/DB2/VSAM.


- Experience in managing cloud, Windows, and Linux/RedHat environments.

- Strong knowledge of payment systems, financial messaging standards, and related simulation tools.

- Hands-on experience with Control-M, Connect, OPCA, STC, and monitoring tools like Splunk and OpenSearch.

Skills :

- Proficiency in vendor-supplied software management on mainframe platforms.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications : (Good to have) :

- Experience with Connex z/OS (FIS) and Ironstream (Precisely).

- Familiarity with DataNavigator Reporting (FIS) and PAYsim/FINsim (ChangeFinancial).

- Knowledge of vulnerability detection and patching techniques.

- Certification in relevant mainframe technologies or payment systems is a plus.
