Role: Power Electronics Engineer

Responsibility: Design & develop reliable, cost effective, customized Power Electronics systems designs like Power supply design (Isolated and Non-Isolated), Obsolescence redesign for Aerospace products to meet the customer requirements as well as governing regulatory standards (DO-160, DO-254, MIL-STD, etc.).

Qualifications: BE / B Tech / M Tech in Electrical engineering or Electronics & Communication or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant experience.

Location: Bangalore

Technical Skills and Competencies:

  • skills in Discrete Power supply design for Power Electronic boards, Strong fundamentals in Power Electronics especially in Isolated and Non isolated DC-DC Converters, Power Supply designs
  • electronic simulation and design software (Cadence, Allegro, ANSYS, LTSpice).
  • with DC - DC converter converters topologies (buck, boost-Flyback, Forward, Push-Pull, Half bridge & Full bridge Converters).
  • Interference (EMI) Analysis experience. Good understanding of grounding and shielding concepts, Chassis design.
  • and Development of Power Transformers and Inductors for Power Converters.
  • Testing and verification.
  • with Power Input EMI Filter Design techniques for DO 160 requirements.
  • Selection, Schematic Capture and providing design guidelines for PCB routing and verification of component placement and Gerber files.
  • knowledge of regulation loops, stability, rejection, efficiency, etc…
  • with Protection Circuits like Over Voltage, Over Current, Temperature Monitoring, Lightning Protection, Inrush Protection, Reverse Polarity.
  • to have hands on experience in design robustness analyzes (Worst Case analysis, Failure Mode and effect analysis, Part stress analysis).
  • to have a hands-on experience in Power Integrity Simulation
  • have experience of working with multi-disciplinary team (For effective design for power supply, understanding Load requirements, PCB layout team, Mechanical team, and suppliers)
  • have general understanding of Engineering Development lifecycles including design, development, testing, verification, and validation phases.
  • Embedded Hardware knowledge of is Plus.
  • procedures definition and execution
  • or aeronautics constraints (DO160, DO254) is preferable.

Knowledge of UL/ CE / ISO26262 certification is preferable.


MUST Skills:

  • Knowledge in DO-254, DO-160, ARP-4754
  • Experience in HW design Life cycle activities :
  • Requirements Capture
  • Conceptual Design and Detailed Design –Digital HW Design using Microprocessor / Micro controller, Analog HW Design – DC/DC convertors, Filters etc
  • PCB Design – Schematic entry, Netlist generation, Routing, DRC verification, Gerber generation
  • HW components selection, Derating analysis, Timing analysis
  • Board level testing and Integration testing
  • Experience in other tools – DOORS, Configuration Management tools like SVN/GitHub/BitBucket/Clearcase, Jira
  • Team management and providing technical guidance to the team members
  • Customer management
