In this role, you will be working as a hands-on senior engineering lead, focusing on building and guiding the team, evolving our regulatory and data products by designing, building, owning and maintaining best-in-class and scalable applications
We're looking for a creative and talented software engineer to:
• design, implement and maintain new and existing applications
• contribute to all stages of the software development lifecycle and drive the future evolution of our systems
• apply best development practices to produce well designed, testable and efficient code
• provide technical expertise, rmendations and innovative solutions
• work collaboratively in a small agile team alongside the product owner and other technologists
• line manage, guide and inspire a chapter of software engineers
• share expertise and best practice with colleagues and contribute regularly to our engineering culture
Your team
We are Markets Regulation, a Technology Stream in the Investment Bank. Our purpose is to transform the way UBS does business, by simplifying and improving the products and platforms relied on by our Regulatory and Data Clients. We play a crucial role in enabling the Investment Bank to meet its regulatory obligations and creating value from its wealth of data. We develop and implement the most innovative technologies available within UBS in our solutions and products.

With members based in London, New York, Singapore, Zurich, Poland and India, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive and diverse team. Your expertise
We recruit T-shaped & well-rounded professionals who are deep experts in their core technologies and are open to learning new technologies. Core skills include:
• bachelor's degree inputer science or equivalent in the IT field with extensive experience of building and maintaining Java-based backend and React-based frontend applications
• good knowledge of building or migrating on-prem applications over Azure Cloud and experience of at least one of cloud technologies (Confluent Kafka, Kubernetes, Flink, Streaming)
• experience with databases and big data solutions (Oracle, Databricks, MS-SQL) will be an asset
• fluency with platforms and frameworks (, Spring, Spring Boot) and knowledge of design and development principles (, OOD, OOP, TDD, BDD, DDD)
• DevOps, DevSecOps, automation & CI/CD experience and expertise
• knowledge of architecting and implementing distributed 'micro-services' based systems
• experience in organizing delivery and leading important design and architecture decisions
