Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with 8–10 years of proven expertise in data engineering and analytics. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in SQL, ETL processes, and large-scale data systems, along with solid scripting skills and experience in Spark and Hive. Familiarity with Extreme Programming (XP) methodologies is a plus, as this role plays a critical part in aligning data solutions with overall business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize robust ETL pipelines and data workflows
  • Work with large-scale data systems using Spark and Hive
  • Develop and maintain Data Warehouse and Data Mart architectures
  • Write efficient and reusable code using Python, Scala, or Shell scripting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Apply Extreme Programming (XP) practices to drive iterative development, improve collaboration, and enhance delivery quality
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across systems
  • Troubleshoot and optimize SQL queries and performance issues
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback

Must-Have Skills:

  • Strong experience in SQL , ETL , Spark , and Hive
  • Solid understanding of Data Warehouse/Data Mart design principles
  • Proficiency in Python , Scala , or Shell scripting
  • Good grasp of scripting techniques and automation best practices
  • Experience with Extreme Programming (XP) or other Agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills – ability to understand business needs and communicate solutions effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders

Good to Have:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and data security practices
