Embedded within the IDT Assurance Services (IAS) team, this role offers a dynamic opportunity to develop expertise in IT risk reviews and audits, define and assess information risk requirements, and contribute to a robust assurance framework. You’ll stay ahead of evolving regulatory demands and industry best practices, integrating them into Shell’s risk management strategy. As Shell accelerates its energy transition through technology, your work will be critical in ensuring compliance with IRM policies, managing IT control operations, leading improvement initiatives, and engaging with stakeholders – including senior leaders and auditors – to drive impactful risk mitigation. What you’ll be doing Risk Review & Remediation Tracking: Lead comprehensive risk management reviews, identify control gaps, and ensure timely and effective remediation tracking. Risk Oversight & Assurance Planning: Lead IT assurance reviews across infrastructure, applications, and cybersecurity domains, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk management objectives. Process & Policy Governance: Oversee the evaluation of IT processes, policies, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT). Strategic Advisory: Provide expert guidance to first line of defense on risk mitigation strategies, control enhancements, and remediation planning for identified gaps. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with first line of defense and business focal points to promote a strong risk-aware culture and ensure effective governance practices. ESSA Leadership: Drive Eliminate, Simplify, Standardize, Automate (ESSA) initiatives within assurance services, ensuring timely reporting and continuous improvement. Oversight of Tools and Reports: Oversee the accuracy and relevance of tools and reports used by the team and stakeholders, making updates based on evolving business needs. Proactive Risk Culture & Continuous Improvement: Promote proactive risk management practices and embed a mindset of continuous improvement across the organization. What you bring 5–8 years of relevant experience in IT audits, ITGC testing, or conducting risk reviews Bachelor’s degree in Technology or a related field Professional certifications in IT Security or Risk Management (e.g., ISO 27001, CISA, CISM, CRISC) are highly desirable Strong knowledge of IT audit methodologies, risk management frameworks, and risk assessment practices Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 27001, COBIT, and other internal/external IT security protocols Solid understanding of information risk management principles and associated processes Experience with enterprise technologies such as SAP, Microsoft Power Platform, and Cloud environments is a plus Continuous improvement mindset with demonstrated project management capabilities Proven ability to lead through influence, delivering results via cross-functional collaboration Team-oriented and proactive, with a willingness to support others and foster a collaborative work environment Analytical problem-solver, skilled in identifying risks and proposing effective mitigation strategies Professionally curious, with a strong desire for ongoing learning and development Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills, capable of managing competing demands effectively Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships Willingness to work mid-shift hours (12:00 PM – 9:00 PM IST); eligible for shift allowance as per company policy What we offer You bring your skills and experience to Shell and in return you work with talented, committed people on one of the most important challenges facing our planet.
