Job Summary
This position, located in TCOE India, will guide the SAP technical design and code development processes across multiple modules. The incumbent will manage and execute these processes to provide the required artifacts and realization deliverables for 3M's global deployment of SAP.

This position requires advanced knowledge of various programming languages, databases, and IT infrastructure as well as the ability to work within cross-functional teams from different businesses and various countries in a complex organization with differences in language, culture and time zones.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with functional leads on solution design - challenge if better solution exists.
• Owner for application development technical processes. Establish documented standards/work instructions for application design and code development. Leverage global standard operating procedures (SOPs) as appropriate. Drives improvements in the common processes as needed.
• Provide leadership and work direction for the SAP Lead Developers and Senior SAP Developers.
• Manage the team effort including developing work plans, preparing schedules, estimating efforts, reporting status, balancing workload between team members and identifying team capacity requirements.
• Review and approve technical specifications to ensure adherence to development and document standards.
• Provide initial estimates of effort for design and development. Validate detailed estimates from suppliers.
• Work within Agile frameworks, participate in sprint planning, and provide regular updates on their progress
• Provide oversight during application code development. Ensure adequate unit testing of code.
• Make recommendations to SAP development teams to achieve best practices and high performance.
• Key participant for code reviews. Ensure standards are followed. Document action items and ensure follow through. Provide final approval of code.
• Provide expertise with integration technologies and enforce interface standards.
• Provide technical expertise for resolving escalated application issues. Participate in crisis meetings as necessary.
• Monitor changes in application technical landscape (e.g. version updates, end of support statements, etc). Submit change requests to drive necessary technical upgrades.
• Develop detail technical specifications as needed based upon functional specs.
• Perform code development as needed to validate designs and maintain skills.
• Maintain technical knowledge of SAP application components and architecture.
• Direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, and technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
• Minimum 9 years SAP application development experience

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP Certified Development Professional – ABAP with SAP NetWeaver 7.0 or later
• Strong technical skills in all areas of the ABAP workbench including List, interactive, & ALV reporting; BAPIs and BDC scripts; Adobe Forms, SMART Forms, SAP Script; Dialog Programming; User-Exits & Customer Enhancements; IDOC; Performance Tuning; ABAP Objects; Workflow; Analyzing ABAP logs/dumps; Researching SAP Notes; Odata and BRF+
• Strong SAP integration techniques including ALE/iDoc, RFC, Ports, Partner Profile setup, Distribution models, webservices, messaging, file transfer, CIF, and Proxy. Exposure of working with various middleware's – SAP PO/PI, WebMethods IBM Sterling and Mulesoft
• Modernize User Interfaces by designing and building applications consistent with the SAP Fiori Application Architecture, including SAP application templates (e.g.: Worklist, Master-Detail), Smart Controls, Dynamic UI Content, Smart Templates, Fragments and Themes
• Broad development experience with SAP modules – EWM, TM, GTS, SD, CRM, MM, PP, QM, FI, CO
• Strong functional knowledge of Order to Cash (Sales & Distribution), EWM, TM and GTS processes
• Strong knowledge in Customs Management and compliance areas in GTS.
• Experience with Shipping, Deliveries & Transportation.
• 5 years of recent experience in Object oriented ABAP programming
• Should be skilled in ABAP debugging, ATC and SLIN checks.
• Development experience in S/4 HANA is a plus.
• Experience working with co-source/offshore resources on development projects.
• Experience with developing interfaces between SAP and non-SAP applications.
• Experience with a SAP global implementation project
• Experience working in a regulated environment (SOX, FDA, etc.) subject to compliance controls.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and team collaboration skills.
• Relationship building skills with counterparts at SAP and other partners.
