Job Summary: The Plant Head will oversee the entire manufacturing operations at the plant, ensuring efficient and cost-effective production while maintaining the highest quality standards. This role requires a strategic leader with deep operational expertise to drive productivity improvements, safety standards, and profitability. The Plant Head will be responsible for managing staff, optimizing processes, and collaborating with other departments to meet the company’s business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
Lead and manage all plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics.
Ensure that manufacturing operations meet production schedules, quality standards, and cost targets.
Implement and monitor operational metrics to assess efficiency, productivity, and output quality.
Continuously drive improvements in operational efficiency and reduction in downtime.
Strategic Planning & Execution:
Develop and execute short and long-term operational strategies to align with overall business goals.
Collaborate with senior leadership to forecast production needs and allocate resources accordingly.
Ensure alignment of plant operations with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop the plant management team to foster a high-performing and engaged workforce.
Implement training programs and career development plans for team members to enhance skill sets.
Drive accountability across teams to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and business goals.
Financial & Budgetary Management:
Develop and manage the plant’s budget, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
Monitor financial performance and take corrective actions to meet financial targets.
Optimize plant resources to reduce costs and enhance profitability without compromising quality or safety.
Process Improvement:
Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
Lead cross-functional teams to eliminate bottlenecks, reduce waste, and improve overall production efficiency.
Oversee equipment and process upgrades to maintain high levels of productivity.
Quality & Compliance:
Ensure all operations comply with relevant quality standards (ISO, GMP, etc.) and customer requirements.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement to maintain high product quality.
Ensure plant operations meet health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Safety & Risk Management:
Develop and enforce strict safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations.
Lead safety training initiatives and ensure proactive risk management practices.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
10+ years of experience in plant management or operations leadership, handled multiple plants preferably in manufacturing, automotive, or industrial environments.
Proven expertise in operational management, with a strong track record of process optimization and cost control.
Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence frameworks.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to drive performance through accountability and motivation.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
Strong understanding of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance standards.
Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and P&L.
