DESCRIPTION:
The Tablet Appstore at Chennai is responsible for building best in class purchase, discover and engaging experiences for apps.
The team is driving towards a vision of building great products/experiences which are magically connected. You can be part of this fast-paced, agile and innovative team who is bringing the best experience to both internal and external partners.
We are looking for a highly motivated, customer centric Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) with a deep experience in testing methodologies and automation.
Key job responsibilities
Quality Assurance Engineers at Amazon test cutting edge applications and products at the user level and code level, both manually and with automated tools. Our QAEs are not pure black box testers, they are able to understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests with Scripting tools and/or user-level automated tools. QAEs at Amazon are excellent individual contributors capable of taking up tasks from start to completion with minimal help. QAEs would be responsible for understanding the domain and the product in detail and coming up with the test strategy/planning, coming up with the test cases, driving the test case sign-off processes with the stakeholders, contributing to code level tests, test execution and reporting.

The Appstore technology teams connect millions of customers to apps and content they love. We enable this on varied set of devices like Fire TV, Fire Tablets, Android devices, etc. We delight customers through selection, world-class customer experience, and value for their money. We continuously strive to make it easy for developers to provide these to customers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
- Experience in manual testing
- Experience in automation testing
- Experience scripting or coding
- Experience as QA lead on medium to large sized projects
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience developing high quality test plans, test designs, test strategies, and test execution
- Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality
- Experience in performance, security and privacy testing
- Experience in identifying automation framework for specific needs, writing automation and integration tests, setting up automation infrastructure (ex: Lab).
- Exposure to LLM tools and a drive to put them to use for increasing QA and dev productivity
