Job Description – Hourly Paid TESOL Teacher Trainer
Purpose of Role
To contribute to the development and coordination of the Teacher Training provision, as well as teach and assess on all teacher training courses.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously develop the TESOL course, including adaptation of timetables, planning of teacher training tuition and tutorials, and keeping administrative records of the course.
- Deliver each course with energy and enthusiasm, aiming high, and providing a learning process that is both challenging and engaging.
- Prepare schemes of work and assessment, provide and maintain teaching materials, including handouts, assignments, and booklists.
- Monitor and keep records of trainee progress and performance, attendance, punctuality, and assessment.
- Liaise with external organizations and stakeholders where appropriate and necessary.
- Act as main or assistant course tutor, identify necessary support for trainees and provide support to ensure that trainees achieve their goals.
- Attend staff meetings as directed by the Director of Studies, and participate in tutor development workshops as appropriate.
- Contribute to the development of marketing and publicity materials.
- Be actively involved in the 'safeguarding' and 'duty of care' aspects of the school.
Qualifications and Experience
- Essential: DELTA or Dip. TESOL or equivalent Level 7 ELT qualification
- Essential: Trained CELTA Trainer
- Essential: Wide-ranging and varied experience teaching speakers of English and teacher training courses
- Essential: Current or recent experience of teaching CELTA or DELTA or TESOL
- Desirable: Experience in coordinating/managing TESOL/CELTA courses
- Desirable: Degree

- Ability to complete administrative tasks accurately and to deadline

Terms and Conditions
- Contract: Hourly paid
- Working hours: Monday to Friday (Minimum 2-3 teacher training courses)
