Threat XIntel is committed to delivering high-quality services, empowering businesses to focus on growth while ensuring their operational security.Role DescriptionWe are seeking a reliable, delivery-oriented Senior Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Java , solid Python understanding , and hands-on experience building AI-enabled backend systems. The role involves Python-to-Java migration , developing scalable backend services, integrating AI components, and designing systems similar to chat-based AI applications.The ideal candidate is backend-focused, comfortable working on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) , and capable of owning system design, testing, and end-to-end delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesMigrate and refactor backend services from Python to JavaDevelop and maintain Java-based backend systems with Python support for enhancements and tweaksDesign and build backend services for chat-style AI applications (similar to conversational AI platforms)Develop and expose RESTful APIs and microservicesIntegrate AI components and frameworks (e.g., MCP, LLM integrations, agent execution )Design scalable and reliable backend architecturesWork with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for deployment and operationsImplement unit tests and integration tests to ensure system reliabilityParticipate in system design discussions and architecture reviewsTroubleshoot complex backend issues and optimize performanceCollaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions on timeTake ownership of features from design through production deploymentRequired Skills and ExperienceStrong hands-on experience with Java backend developmentSolid working knowledge of Python (ability to understand, modify, and optimize existing code)Experience performing Python-to-Java migrationsStrong backend engineering background (APIs, services, data handling)Experience designing distributed systems and microservicesHands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)Experience building or integrating AI/LLM-based systemsStrong understanding of system design, scalability, and reliabilityExperience with unit testing and integration testingExcellent problem-solving and debugging skillsNice to HaveExperience building chat-based or conversational AI platformsExposure to AI orchestration frameworks or agent-based systemsExperience with CI/CD pipelines and containerized deploymentsFamiliarity with cloud-native observability and monitoringIdeal Candidate ProfileBackend-first senior engineerStrong Java expertise with Python fluencyDelivery-oriented and accountableStrong analytical and problem-solving mindsetComfortable owning architecture and implementationReliable freelancer who can work independently and deliver results
