School Bus driver Position Type School Operations Commence Date 20 Jan 2026 to 11 Dec 2026 Employment Status Fixed Term / Contract FTE/Hours per week 16 hrs/week for 41 weeks of the year (School Term Time + 1 week). 3 hrs per day - 1.5hrs in am & 1.5 hrs in pm + 1 hr cleaning bus Subject(s)/Grade ESO Grade 2 Role Details St James requires a Bus Driver for a new bus run from Booleroo Centre starting in 2026. The bus will be a 12 seater so normal car licence is all that is required. This will be a 12 month contract due to its trial basis, but the hope is that if this bus run is successful it will become permanent. The successful applicant will be required to: Collect students in Booleroo Centre at approximately 8:00am and drive them to St James school in Jamestown (potentially picking up other students along the way). Collect students at St James school in Jamestown at 3:15pm and drive them to Booleroo centre (and potentially other stops along the way). designate 1hr per week to thoroughly wash and clean the bus. Operate the bus in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures and in a safe and effective manner to minimise the risk of injury, property and damage. Perform daily safety and maintenance checks. Report any service requirements to the Principal (or delegate) in a timely way and make the necessary arrangements to ensure operating and roadworthy requirements continue to be effectively met. Ensure the bus is cleaned inside and out each day it is used and is safely and securely stored. Ensure routine and required servicing is scheduled and occurs as per the service schedule or as otherwise required and is adequately documented. The successful applicant must: Hold a current unrestricted South Australian Driver’s License. (Must not be subject to any conditions such as provisional, probationary or suspended). Hold a current acceptable Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance & screening to work in Catholic Education South Australia OR be willing to get one prior to commencing work. Hold current certification in Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect in Education and Care Settings. OR be willing to get one prior to commencing work.
