Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze requirements, specifications, and technical design documents, providing timely feedback
  • Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Provide developers with high-level test cases for the stories before code is written
  • Prioritize and plan testing activities along with automation
  • Identify and report issues found, then verify that issues are resolved
  • Investigate product quality to make improvements to achieve better customer satisfaction
  • Configuring, using, and managing test environments and test data


Leadership and Communication:

  • As a senior role, effective communication and leadership skills are essential
  • Collaborate with development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent project execution
  • Prepare and present reports and metrics to Senior Management


Test Automation:

  • Automation is a critical aspect of QA. Senior QA Engineers design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts
  • Familiarity with tools like Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or other testing frameworks is valuable


Performance Testing:

  • Senior QA Engineers assess system performance, scalability, and reliability
  • They use tools like JMeter, BlazeMeter, or other tools to simulate heavy loads and analyze system behavior


Security Testing:

  • Understanding security vulnerabilities and conducting security testing is crucial
  • Knowledge of OWASP Top Ten vulnerabilities and tools like Burp Suite or ZAP is beneficial


Agile and DevOps:

  • Many organizations follow Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
  • Senior QA Engineers participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and contribute to continuous integration and delivery
  • Ensuring the appropriate testing tasks are scheduled during release and iteration planning
